The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 19-year housewife, Aisha Musa, for attempting to murder her husband by poison his food 40 days after their wedding.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, August 13, 2026 said the incident occurred in Gwamma village, Bauchi Local Government Area of the state.
“The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to informed the General public of arrest not Aisha Musa, a 19-year-old housewife, allegedly attempting to poison her husband, name withheld, in Gwamma Village, Bauchi Local Government Area” the statesment read.

“Accordingly, on 12th August, 2026 at about 1515hrs, the suspect, who is said to be a bride if about 40 days, allegedly introduced a poisonous substance into her husband ‘s meal.
“Subsequently, at about 19:40 hrs on the same day, a distress call was received from anonymous lady residing at the Wunti Dada Area, Bauchi, reporting the incident to the police.
According to the PPRO, the suspect allegedly mixed a poisonous substance into her husband’s meal on August 12.
Habib said a distress call was received from an anonymous woman, prompting officers to immediately mobilize to the scene.

The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi (ATBUTH), he is receiving treatment.
Habib said the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and confessed during interrogation.
An empty bottle suspected to contain poison and remnants of the food were recovered and duly registered as exhibit.
