How 15-year-old bride conspired with ex-lover to poison husband in Jigawa -Police reveals

A 15-year -old girl, Zahra’u Dauda, conspired with her ex-lover to kill her 29-year-old husband, two days after their wedding.

A shocking plot to murder a newly wed husband in Jigawa State has been foiled, resulting in the arrest of a 15-year-old bride, Zahra’u Dauda, and 22-year-old ex-lover, Lawan Musa.

According to the Jigawa State Police Command, the young couple’s marriage turned deadly, just two days after their wedding.

On December 20, 2024, Zahrau Dauda and Kamisu Haruna, both from different villages within the the state, tied the knot in Kiyawa Local Government Area.

However, tragedy struck just two days later, on December 22, when Dauda conspired with Musa to poison her husband’s food at their home in Albasu village, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

According to the Police, Dauda and Musa, both from Kiyawa Local Government Area, secretly planned the attack. After cooking a meal, they laced the food with poison.

Kamisu Haruna, along with two of his friends consumed the meal. Shortly after eating, both men began experiiencing severe stomach pains and were rushed to the hospital.

Sadly, one of the Haruna’s friends was pronounced death by medical personnel, while Haruna himself survived.

In a statement from the Police, it was revealed that the bride and and his ex-lover’s actions were motivated by unknown reasons, and their plot was uncovered following an investigations.

The Two suspects were apprehended, and the case still under investigation.

The tragic incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of minors in marriages and the depth of violence that can occur in relationships.

The Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

As the Investigation continues, Jigawa State Police Command is working to uncover further details surrounding the motive behind the tragic attempt.
