The Nigerian Police Intelligence Response Team has recorded a remarkable feat in combatting the menace of bandits/kidnapers and terrorism along Northern and Southern Nigerian Highways.
A 60-year-old Umaru Mohammed was arrested for conveying rifles and ammunition to bandits/kidnappers along the Highways all across the North and Southwest using a Special compartment made to hide the Rifles in his Car.
9News Nigerian gathered that Umaru Mohammed collects 200,000 Naira from the Kidnappers/Bandits for conveying the Rifles to the kidnapping point along the Highways and days later, another 200,000 Naira for bringing the rifles back after the kidnappings and ransom collections.
Umaru Mohammed has confessed that he beats unsuspecting security check-points by feigning his old age and appears innocent in the eyes of security agents. “Security agents don’t suspect me along the highways because of my old age,” Umaru has said during police interrogation.
Umaru Mohammed and his gang were arrested by the Nigeria Police Intelligence Response Team IRT and the rifles and ammunition were recovered.
They were paraded before the press by the Nigerian Police Force PRO on 16/6/2021.
