Argentina’s vice president Cristina Kirchner has narrowly escaped a public assassination attempt after an unknown man pointed a gun at her face during a public function, 9News Nigeria learnt.
According to a video shared on the official social media page of 9News Melbourne, the Argentine Vice President was terrified before she was saved from the alleged assassination attempt.
The social media post read “Shocking footage has emerged of the moment Argentina’s vice president Cristina Kirchner had a gun pointed at her face in an alleged assassination attempt.”
In the video, a man can be seen raising a handgun to Kirchner at point-blank range, with the weapon appearing to misfire.
A 35-year-old Brazilian man was arrested at the scene while the Argentine Police continued investigation on the crime.
Cristina Elisabet Fernández de Kirchner, often referred to by her initials CFK, is an Argentine lawyer and politician who has served as the 37th Vice President of Argentina since 2019.
