How Gov Udom Emmanuel invaded State Assembly with thugs – Factional Speaker, Ntuen

The Speaker of the five member faction of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Nse Ntuen, has alleged that the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, personally invaded the State Assembly with thugs.
In a live telephone conversation with the factional Speaker, which was monitored by 9NEWS on AIT, Hon. Nse Ntuen, explained that the five factional state lawmakers which he was the Speaker have a hitch-free plenary on Tuesday before the governor, some of his aides and thugs invaded the Assembly.
He said: “We had a plenary successfully today and adjourned sitting till another legislative day and as we are about leaving the Assembly complex, we, saw the governor coming with thugs who were fully armed.”
“Some were armed with guns and cutlass. The impeached Speaker was among them and they were making calls.”
“As the new Speaker, I was with the five members and we have our motions. ”
“The decision of the House today was that the impeached Speaker and eleven other members remain suspended.”
The factional Speaker also added that the State Commissioner for Works has been invited to appear before the next plenary.
He also stressed there was no debate on the fate of the State as a result of the crisis that hit the state.
The factional Speaker, Nse Ntuen represents Essien Udim State Constituency of Akwa Ibom.
Meanwhile, attempts by 9NEWS to speak to the embattled Speaker, Onofiok Luke to speak further on the crisis did not yield result at the time of filing this report.
The Akwa Ibom state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on Tuesday in Uyo accused the State Police Commissioner of backing the Nse Ntuen-led faction to sit illegally.
Udom also fingered the former governor and Senator, Godswill Akpabio of being the brain behind the crisis in Akwa Ibom.
