Egyptian international and Liverpool star, Mohammed Salah has revealed that his new celebration was inspired by a Nigerian sports star from UFC.
The Liverpool forward who made a good start this season, netting a goal in his team’s victory against Ipswich Town and Brentford respectively has highlighted that the particular show wasn’t his usual style of celebration.
“I was watching the UFC, [Alex] Pereira against Israel Adesanya. When he won the second fight, he celebrated like that. I like the celebration, so that’s why I did it.” Salah said referring to Adesanya.
Recall that in Adesanya’s fight against Pereira back in April 2023, he celebrated like that -the bow and arrow, after knocking out his opponent.
Salah is a big fan of Adesanya and the UFC, and this has lead him to showcase his new style.
However, Mo Salah is not the first Premier League footballer to pull out the bow and arrow celebration, as many players in the top flight have pulled of such stunt.
