The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has shared testimony of how God lifted him despite the seeming challenge that came his way before his present designation.
Musa shared the testimony on Sunday at the Conquerors Global Assembly in Abuja, as monitored by Church Times in a video shared online.
In a bid to strengthen the nation’s security architecture, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had in October made changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs, replacing General Musa with General Olufemi Oluyede.
Sources attributed Musa’s removal to the rumoured coup attempt against Tinubu administration’s and rising insecurity across the country.
However, in a twist of events, President Tinubu appointed Musa as the Minister of Defence less than two months after he was removed as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
This followed the resignation of Mohammed Badaru from the position allegedly due to health reasons.
Musa, who attended the service of the Church in company of his wife, expressed great appreciation to the founder of the Church, Bishop David Abioye and his wife. He then prayed that the ministry will continue to blossom.
Sharing his testimony, he told worshippers at the Church never to give up “because we serve a living God. He will never give up on us.”
“We give God the glory for what has happened this year. Even when the enemy thought they were putting us down, they did not know God was going to lift us up. In their small minds they conspired and thought they had win. But as long as you have God as your pillar you will win”, he said.
His testimony has drawn reactions from religious and civic circles, with many describing it as a messages of hope to Nigerians navigating professional and personal struggles in a highly competitive environment.
