Notorious wanted bandit and suspected kidnap kingpin, Abubakar Usman, has been captured during a joint security operation in Delta forest.
The operation was led by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, working alongside the Delta State Police Command’s Anti- Kidnapping Squad, the SafeCity Security Service, and other local security volunteers.

According to reports, the operation followed the successful rescue of a kidnapped woman, Mrs. Blessing Chiedu, a native of Umunede Kingdom who had earlier been abducted by armed criminals demanding a ransom. Security operatives tracked the gang to their hideout in the Ogwashi-Uku/Adonta Forest in Delta State where a gun battle ensued.
During the operation, Abubakar Usman was arrested, while other members of the gang reportedly escaped deeper into the forest with their weapons.

Preliminary investigations reportedly link the suspect and his gang to several kidnapping incidents across Umunede, Igbodo, and neighbouring communities, where they have extorted millions of naira in ransom from innocent families.
Security authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.
