IBC Honours Ex-DG, Obong-Egbuna With Posthumous Award

The management of Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC,) operators of Orient 94.5FM and Orient TV Channel 59 is to honour the corporation’s former Director General, Mrs Esther Obong-Egbuna with a Post-Humous award.

The corporation will also confer awards on some other erstwhile members of staff of the organization during its Golden Voices Awards holding in its premises on February 13, 2025

The former members of staff to be honoured include Elder Onyebuchi Onyeikegbulem, Mr. Joe Ehioma, Mr. Coleman Nwanne, Mahakwe Ike and Isaac Anyanwu.

Others are Madam Chinyere Okere and Mrs Imelda Onyiogu.

A statement signed by the Director General, Ms Ify Onyegbule disclosed that the awards will form part of the activities marking the World Radio Day holding same February 13.

According to her, the award recipients are men and women whose voices brought joy and laughter to many homes over the years.

Esther Obong-Egbuna originally from Akwa Ibom State did her National Youth Service Corps programme at the IBC Owerri.

She fell in love with the then Director General of the corporation Dr. Chike Egbuna.

They later got married and IBC also retained Esther who rose through the ranks to the pinnacle of the corporation before kicking the bucket on June 10, 2016.

Esther was also the Vision Bearer of Praise Worship Fellowship International PWFI.
