FC Ifeanyi Ubah stunned hosts Warri Wolves 1-0 at the Warri Township stadium yesterday to sustain their rise on the league table.
Chijioke Alakwe’s header at the 36th minute separated the host from the visiting Anambra Warriors in the match day 32 fixture.
The victory has placed the FC Ifeanyi Ubah closed to their continental football target at the end of the season.
Wikki Tourists of Bauchi has returned to the top spot of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after an impressive 2-1 win against visiting MFM FC at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi yesterday.

Austine Ogunye gave the visitors a lifeline when he hit the back of the net in the 64th minute but they were unable to find the leveller.

In Owerri, Heartland began its fight against relegation with a 1-0 win against fellow strugglers Shooting Stars with Emeka Atuloma grabbing the decisive goal at the 9th minutes before the break, while another relegation bound side, Ikorodu United picked their first win under Dutchman Theo de Jong with Adeshina Oduntan netting the winner on 90 minutes as they defeated Niger Tornadoes in Abeokuta.
