In the course of promoting Igbo language and culture all over the globe, a pan Igbo group known as Igbo speaking community in lagos state turned out en-masse to observe the day in accordance to the proclamation nationwide.

Former president Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos Chief Chris Ekwilo, Managing Director Ekwe Kuo Amagbaa (igbo Language News) John Chukwu , President Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, National Coordinator Igbo Women forum Chairman Ekwe Kuo Amagbaa , Chimezie Nneka, Secretary Alaigbo development Foundation (ADF) Hon Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu Mok, were all in the press Conference to mark the World United Nations mother Tongues Day indigenous Language and Culture held in Lagos on 21/2/2021.
