Ijaw National Congress Endorses Tonye Cole for Governor In Rivers State

Elders and stakeholders of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) in Rivers State today endorsed the candidacy of their beloved son, Arch. Pst. Tonye Cole, governorship candidate of the APC.

Speaking on behalf of the group after an extraordinary meeting in Port Harcourt, the leader of the group, Elder Derefa Raymond Bara, said there are so many sons of Ijaw ethnic nationality running for the governorship position in Rivers State, but Arch. Pst. Tonye Cole presents an opportunity for the Rivers people to produce a credible, responsible, and people-oriented governance that will protect the dignity and pride of the Rivers man.

The group called on all sons and daughters of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in Rivers State to vote massively for Arc. Pst. Tonye Cole to ensure his victory come Saturday the 18th of March, 2023.

The Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Tonte Ibraye, and his Deputy, Tonto Dike, had earlier in the day stepped down for Tonye Cole and adopted him as their candidate for the gubernatorial election.

While doing so, Tonte Ibraye said, “We decided to make consultations and talked with our elders. While we were discussing we said who has more capacity to win this election. A lot of hands pointed at you, Tonye Cole.

“For us to win, we have to work with Cole to win. Today we are aligning our forces with Cole because we want to win this election. We are calling on Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Dawari George and Beatrice Itubo, and others to queue behind the moving train.

“We are not talking about Ijaw or a Kalabari Governor, but a governor that will deliver development to the state. He is the unifying candidate of the opposition parties in Rivers State.”

Of all the opposition candidates running for the governorship position in Rivers State, only Tonye Cole has the most viable and formidable opportunity to oust the reign of bad governance and pure wickedness that the government of Nyesom Wike has foisted on Rivers people.
