President Tinubu pleads with Nigerians over hardship in the country, says he’s pained

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that he is not focused on upcoming 2027 general elections but rather on pressing needs to restructure Nigeria’s economy for the benefit of its citizens.

Tinubu represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, made these remarks on Saturday during the 2024 South West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress, APC, held at the EKO Hotels in Victoria Island, Lagos.

At the Assembly, Tinubu expressed his comment to addressing the economic challenges facing Nigeria, urging citizens to remain patient as his administration works towards genuine progress.

“I am pained by the hardship in the country, but I assure you that Nigeria will get better”, he said.

The President emphasized that the time is now for leaders to make tough decisions aimed at creating wealth and improving the lives of Nigerians for generations to come.

Tinubu further affirmed his dedication to repositioning Nigeria and maintaining an open line of communication with the populace.

“When a man has a strong conviction of what he is doing, he pursues it”, he stated, reinforcing his love for Nigerians and his commitment to listening to their needs.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who hosted the event, echoed Tinubu’s sentiments, urging party members to support Tinubu-led administratiion.

“We are blessed with assets and more positioned to move the country forward, he said, emphasizing the importance of unity among party members.

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, immediate past Governor of Ekiti and a keynote Speaker, called for a united front within the South West APC to ensure the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He reminded attendees of the party’s strength which emerged from the cohesiveness of four different political parties.

The Assembly was attended by various dignitaries, including Governors from Ekiti, Ondo, and Ogun, as well as APC Senators and other high-ranking officials.

The gathering aimed to strengthen ties within the party and foster collaboration toward advancing Nigeria’s development.
