Imagine What A Head Teacher Did To 6 Years Old Girl
The increase in child abuse and molestation in Nigerian schools has become very rampant. Yet again, it was reported that;
“Operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons have arrested a headteacher, Shadrach Nwekeagu, for allegedly r*ping a six-year-old female pupil in the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Nwekeagu, 30, who hails from the Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, was nabbed by the NAPTIP operatives after the victim’s father reported the matter to the agency. The victim’s father said that his daughter complained of stomach ache when she came back from school and he later saw bloodstains on her underwear. The father of the victim further added that his daughter confessed that Nwekeagu inserted his finger in her private parts the previous week, and a week later, he r*ped her in the classroom after school hours”
It was gathered that he was able to commit the crime after school hours when students were no longer in school.
It was said that;
Mrs. Stella Nezan, The NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations said;“NAPTIP did not disclose the school’s name, but noted in a statement on Thursday that some teachers in the school said they had their suspicions about Nwekeagu s*xually molesting pupils. The teachers claimed they were reluctant to speak out because they were afraid they would lose their jobs.
“Operatives of NAPTIP arrested Shedrach Nwekeagu for allegedly rping a six-year-old pupil. He is the headteacher of one of the private schools in the Kuje Area Council. The pupil informed her parents that Nwekeagu inserted his finger in her vagina and a week later, he brutally rped her in the classroom after school hours.”
Julie Okah-Donli, the NAPTIP Director-General said
“The suspect would be prosecuted under the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, 2015. School proprietors must ensure that they run background checks on the teachers they employ to teach the children so as to avoid horrible incidents such as this. It is quite unfortunate that the teacher, who is meant to guard and shield a pupil, is the one who ends up molesting the child.
“We encourage members of the public to be vigilant and report any lewd act being meted to any child to our agency for investigation.”
It seems like an unending problem as a similar situation happened where a teacher allegedly r*ped a 2-year-old girl. Thankfully, the girl’s mother found out before anything could go wrong.
“She said that somebody in her church handed her a book on s*xual education on children. She read it and decided to practice it on her child saying little did she know that her child had already been defiled. She said she took her child to the toilet and told her not to allow anybody to touch her ‘wee wee’ and the child told her that Mr Adenekan touches her ‘wee wee.It was reported that;
Schools are now becoming really risky and scary and parents should pay more attention to the schools they take their children to.
