Imo State House of Assembly IMHA led by Speaker Chike Olemgbe has gone through the process of speedy acceleration of legislation of budget appropriation passage for the Year 2025.

9News Nigeria reports that the initial proposed budget by the executive arm of government was formerly seven hundred and fifty six (N756) billion naira to accommodate every sector of economy in the state but the Imo State House of Assembly IMHA pushed the estimate to Eight Hundred and Seven (N807) Billion naira only.

By this endorsement by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma, the year 2025 IMO state appropriation bill will serve as a force of law and as the operational manual for the 3R shared prosperity administration.

Aimed at boosting the economy hub of Imo State, Governor Uzodinma said , “The budget of expanded economic opportunities” is designed for economic transformation of Imo State through improved infrastructure and industrialization.

The Governor acknowledged that the amendment by IMHA shows clearly the alignment between the executive and the Imo state legislators in providing critical and valuable infrastructure to Imo people.

Therefore, the total budget of N807 Billion for the year 2025 means that the opportunity for growth, prosperity and opportunity to create and bring into reality the new Imo state is by the corner.

While commending the IMHA through the Rt Honourable Speaker, Chike Olemgbe for the expeditious passage of the budget proposal into appropriation law, Governor Uzodinma assured Imolites of government readiness to commence full operations to develop Imo state Nigeria.

Uzodinma further reminded Ndi Imo that beyond focusing on the economy, government thinking of Imo state is that the state become one of the fastest growing economic state in the region.

Accordingly, “Our aim is to position Imo state to be the prime destination for genuine investors and serious minded members of the capital market who are ready to do business in Imo.

The Governor noted that sufficient allocations was given to cover the infrastructural gap in the state and voted enough resources for the provision of POWER, WORKS, AGRICULTURE, EDUCATION and HEALTH. This will no doubt constitute the nucleus of the modern economy to take IMO to a new level of massive economy hub.

The number one citizens of Imo state and Chief security officer of the state, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma therefore urged everyone and all the stakeholders to continue to support his administration and government’s endeavour to set Imo on the part of sustainable development.

At the government House Owerri, while Governor Uzodinma was signing the bill, he hinted that the only way to reciprocate the sacrifice made not only by Imo people, including the legislators is to show performance and give people the course to see that at the end of this administration, there will definitely be something to show that all efforts are not in vain.

“I have signed into law, the Imo State 2025 Appropriation Bill, after its thorough and thoughtful consideration by the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA), raising the budget to ₦807b from the proposed ₦755b and thereby setting on course the 2025 fiscal year in alignment with our projections, and we are optimistic about full and appropriate execution of the budget.

“While assuring ndi Imo that this budget will be implemented with the utmost accountability, transparency, and focus on impactful outcomes, I express sincere gratitude to the Honourable Members of the Assembly for their diligence in ensuring the budget aligns with the interests and developmental aspirations of our State, Governor Uzodinma stated.

However, Imo people are looking up to the present Uzodinma’s administration to deliver the progress needed in the state as captured in the Appropriation law for the Year 2025 among the most prominent which is road construction across Imo communities and industrialization of the state from the old narrative of “A civil service state” to an industrial hub as expected.
