Roads in Imo state were commissioned alongside the banquet hall and relief market road.
This commissioning therefore has continued to raise ill feelings by Ndi Imo over the standard of work done by the crops of governors and Politicians in Imo and ABIA state.
Information revealed to 9News Nigeria was that roads in these two states in the south east are worst and the governors and political representatives are enjoying the shame it has brought to the states.
How unfortunate are Imo and ABIA on road construction and governance?
Enugu for instance and Ebonyi state are done by same governors who may be have good heart for the people and have feelings for posterity sake.
Meanwhile, the former governor Sullivan Chime that took over from Nnamani changed the landscape of Enugu state and this has continued by the inception of the governor UGWUANYI whose continuity in governance has brought development to more created towns like Nssuka and others.
But in Imo state, whose standard are we to commend? Majority of the roads that is standing the test of time was done by Former governor Sam Mbakwe and till date no other governor has surpassed his good works.Abia is the worst when it comes to roads and governance.
An expert on civil engineering and road construction who was in the commissioning of Imo roads over the weekend hinted that he was at the commissioning of PH / federal secretariat/ world bank road and to say the least that road can not stand the rainy season of this year. It will wear out.
He continued to blame our governors who he has this to ask .. “Why are we so unfortunate in Imo state? If you compare the road projects in Rivers state to that of Imo you will be angry with our Governor.
There is no doubt, we know Rivers state is richer but it takes a man of standard to do what Wike is doing.
He added that In all honesty ” i am apolitical but leading two sets of crew to these commissioning puts me off with my state and the Governor”
The relief market road is what a local council should have done but the Governor has taken the patched road as achievement.
I pray God to send us a messiah in the state.
Imo is at a brink”
Moreso, going by the language of the politicians, turn by turn is a thief’s idea of development in a state or country.
What if Nigeria’s government invest the country’s income in building Abuja to look like New York but tell you to have patience, in future, it will be the turn of your Owerri hometown?
In Imo state, the politicians seize the allocations meant for development of the other LGAs but invest a little in beautifying Owerri. You come to tell people about turn by turn. When will it ever be the turns for Orlu and Okigwe?
They seized not only money meant for rural development, they also seized the money meant for urban development in Orlu and Okigwe which are the two urban centers officially recognized with Owerri by government as the three urban centers of Imo state when the state was created”
Well, maybe the political leaders in the state are bereft of ideas to develop Imo.A call in the right direction is to do standard road work in Imo.There are Straberg, Marlum, Setraco, Julius Berger and many standard construction companies that are still readily available to do standard work.
