Imo state was agog few moments ago when the first edition of campus dress up challenge ended on a wonderful note.
9News Nigeria gathered that the epoch making event which took place on Thursday , 12th November 2020 at All Seasons Hotel attracted top government officials.
Speaking at the grand finale, the LOC chairman, Dr. Emeka Mandela maintained that the event was to enlighten the young people on the appropriate fashion that suits a particular event.
Dr Emeka stated that he observed with dismay that most young people lacks dressing skill which resulted in abuse of dress code for an occasion.
Meanwhile, the Ikeduru born medical practitioner opined that the idea was not to criticize people’s dress code but rather to improve their fashion sense and ensure their dress pattern suits their event.
Mandela as fondly called used the medium to congratulate the winners of the event while urging them to be good ambassadors of their brand. He maintained that the societal moral value the event pose to add to young people will take them to height where it will replace shows like BBN in the closest future.
Hon. Eric Uwakwe (SA to governor on youth affairs) who was present at the occasion congratulated the winners and pledged the unalloyed support of the state government.
Also speaking, Hon. Bobby Uchechukwu Michaels (SA to governor on entertainment) commended the organizers of the event for their efforts and charged the winners to always be good ambassadors of their state.
The overall winner of the event Miss Efojie Precious who was declared and decorated as the Most Decent Campus Fashionista 2020 applauded the organizers for their efforts.
According to her, the organizers were sincere and carefully selected the winners on merit as she described all as winners.
She attributed her victory to hard work and dedication while advising young people to always be passionate about what ever they believe in.
According to her,
“Don’t be into trends..
Don’t make fashion own you…
Decide what you are and what you want to express by the way you dress”
Why presenting the certificate of participation and cheques to the winners, The SA On Aviation , Hon. Prince Ikem Uzondu charged them to remain good role models to their fellow youths, as he extends some kind gesture from his good office to enable most of them book flight tickets back to there respective states
Hon. Celia Osakwe(SA Diaspora) , Hon. Wilson Nwafor (SA Recreational Park and Open Space Dev.) were among the dignitaries that graced the occasion which pulled over 70 contestants.
