The All Progressives Congress Imo State has continued in their scheduled tours to all the local government areas in the state.
The tour is targetted at having a one- on one chat with the party membership across the twenty seven Local Government Area Councils in Imo State.
Few hours ago, Ikeduru, Mbaitolu LGAs were visited while Owerri West LGA will take it’s turn on Wednesday 22-08-2023 ahead of the INEC scheduled Governorship Election. The visit will take place at Umuguma Owerri West by 12noon.
Leader of Owerri zone APC media, Julian Godswill revealed that in a vibrant display of unity and enthusiasm, the Leadership of Owerri zone All Progressives Congress (APC), headed by Imo APC Chairman, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, embarked on a significant visit to leaders of Ikeduru and Mbaitolu APC.
The purpose of the visit was to foster cohesion among various party organs at the local government and ward levels, leading up to the imminent Governorship election scheduled for November 11th.
The leadership delegation’s first destination was Ikeduru local government area, home to Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof. Placid Njoku, who warmly received the distinguished visitors. Hon. MacDonald Ebere commenced the session by taking attendance of the assembled leaders and then delved into the main objective of the visit. With a mere 7 weeks remaining until the election, Hon. Ebere emphasized the imperative of tightening party organization and addressing any vulnerabilities that might hinder the Governor’s electoral success. He issued a directive for the necessary sanctions against any ward or LGA executive found neglecting their campaign responsibilities.
During the meeting, Hon. Ebere conveyed greetings from Governor Hope and urged the assembled leadership to set aside any internal discord that could undermine the party’s mission to secure victory for Governor Uzodinma. Strategic campaign and outreach methods were outlined by Hon. MacDonald to facilitate effective mobilization at the local government level.
Notably, Imo State Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku, extended gratitude for the visit and took the opportunity to advocate for adherence to the Imo State Charter of equity. Prof. Njoku emphasized that supporting the re-election of Dist. Sen Hope Uzodimma would pave the way for Owerri zone’s prospects in future political endeavors.
Moving to Mbaitolu, the Owerri zonal leadership encountered an equally receptive reception from party leaders, including Deputy Governorship candidate Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, Former Chairman of Imo APC Chief Marcon Nlemigbo, and Sole Administrator of Mbaitolu LGA Hon. Hamilton Chinasa Opara. Hon. MacDonald Ebere underscored the significance of Governor Uzodinma’s accomplishments in the region and urged a united effort to secure his return to office.
Former Imo APC Chairman Chief Marcon Nlemigbo and Sole Administrator of Mbaitolu LGA Hon. Hamilton Chinasa Opara echoed the call for solidarity and commended the Governor’s contributions, specifically highlighting the rehabilitation of the Owerri – Orlu Road.
In an eloquent appeal, Hon. Opara stressed the importance of unity and peace among party members, asserting that victory could only be achieved through a united front.
