The Owerri zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Chief Sir Justus Ogu has declared that the people of Owerri zone stand the greater chance of enjoying the Charter of Equity that is been spearheaded by lmo Elders Council and adopted by Governor Hope Uzodimma, if the people of Owerri zone vote massively for Uzodimma’s victory, come November 11, 2023.
Speaking at the weekend during a visit to Aboh Mbaise APC stakeholders held at the Council headquarters, Aboh, Chief Ogu, who harped on the importance of unity of purpose among leaders of the party in Aboh Mbaise and other sister LGAs that make up Owerri zone, insisted that if Governor Hope Uzodimma has landslide victory in Mbaise and the entire Owerri zone at the polls, the people of Owerri zone can meet the Governor to negotiate for the turn of the zone. He reminded that if Okigwe zone should surpass Owerri zone, it will be hard to achieve that.
According to the utility leader, “we must show evidence of performance at the end of the polls to reap from the Charter of Equity”.
Chief Ogu, who was emotional about the unity of leaders of Aboh Mbaise, Mbaise nation and Owerri zone at large, stressed the need for massive votes in Mbaise and Owerri zone, according to him, to act as a bargaining tool for 2027.
The proactive zonal Vice Chairman of the ruling party who has worked tirelessly to project the image of the party in Owerri, especially relying on the good works of Governor Uzodimma, observed that, now Ihedioha is off the way, PDP Exco now in APC with the Youth and Women wings of the party, it is to the advantage of APC in Owerri zone to leverage on the opportunity to mobilize the rest of other minor political parties whose membership also come from Owerri zone to vote Governor Uzodimma to victory in the forthcoming polls.
According to Ogu, “Charter of Equity can never come to us on a platter.We must deliver and show commitment to be able to negotiate.
Governorship election of 11/11 (November 11) is special. Don’t joke with that Guber election! Admit new members in Aboh Mbaise and other LGAs in Owerri zone.”

He therefore, advised Party leaders in Aboh Mbaise and other LGs to support their party Chairmen and avoid bringing petitions to his office demanding for sack of members.
Ogu, however, informed of his recent visit to lkeduru part of Owerri zone where over 650 PDP members defected to APC, enjoining Aboh Mbaise to strive to receive more members into their fold, ahead of the November showdown.

all LG Party Executives, Ward Chairmen and Executives, GLO, Community leaders and a host of other dignitaries.
