Imo Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ekomaru alongside notable government officials were present at the burial of Late Pa Thompson Onyeachigbulam Chikezie held in Nekede Owerri west LGA Imo State, Friday.
Welcoming the number two citizen of Imo state to the funeral, Head son-in-law to the family, Chief Joe Ohaegbulam expressed joy and admiration for honouring his Father in-law’s funeral in Umuikea Umuoma Nekede with state presence led by Her Excellency Lady Ekomaru.
Notable government house master of microphone (MC) , mouthpiece and revered chieftaincy title holder in Umuofor Amaimo Ikeduru, Chief Joe Ohaegbulam was filled with good words to have Her Excellency Lady Ekomaru, Chief Sir Barr Chucks Ekomaru (SAN), Political Aide- Hon Dr Charles Uzupou alongside other notable dignitaries present at the burial.
In her words of consolation to the late Thompson Chikezie’s family, DGov Chinyere Ekomaru highlighted the relationship Imo State government has with Okwuruoha Joe Ohaegbulam for his good sense of humour, public speaking and source of encouragement to the shared prosperity administration.

Lady Ekomaru hinted that she stood -in for His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma and the government of Imo state at the funeral while noting that pa Thompson Chikezie lived a fulfilled life at 91years and raised his children in the way of God. She expressed concern over the challenging times and encouraged the family to hold unto God for such an irreparable loss. Her Excellency sympathized with the wife , Mrs comfort Chikezie, children and grandchildren to take solace in God.
Thompson Chikezie, at the time of filling this report by 9News Nigeria was the second eldest man in Umuikea Umuoma Nekede. He was fondly called T.C.O. by his peers, admirers and contemporaries. Born February 9, 1934 to his late parents, Jeremiah and Fanny Chikezie, late Thompson attended the famous Central school Nekede 1942-1948 and proceeded to Emmanuel College Owerri and Trinity high school Oguta respectively.
He joined the Shell British Petroleum training school in 1958, graduated 1961 and got employed till the break out of Nigerian Biafran Civil war in 1967. Left to mourn Thompson Chikezie is his wife Comfort nee Mbano/Amadi of Umuguma Owerri West and five children out of eight.
Since 2006 he retired back to Umuikea Umuoma Nekede, Pa Thompson Chikezie took part in effective community service and church work till death.

The burial featured, host community Umuikea Umuoma, OverComers Christian Mission, Deeper Life Bible Church, maternal relatives from Umuguma Owerri West, Umuofor Amaimo in-laws, NPF in company of ASP Stella Ohaegbulam, clergy, community leaders, relatives from Mbaise, Onitsha Anambra State, Ihiagwa and Nekede secondary school old boys -1997 set.
High Chief (Dr ) Ogbuawa-arusi n’enye ego Obosima Ohaji Egbema LGA , Chief Rams Ibeh-Fmr IMC Owerri North/SA Door -To-Door, ABJ Powerful -mayor /Fmr Chairman Owerri Municipal Council, Chief Martin Anukem-APC Chieftain, Kate associated industries Onitsha led by A.I. Obiora, Friends from Rivers State, Oham Undertakers, DJ Lee, Image Maker/Photos, Ugonwanne band from Egbu Owerri North alongside numerous personalities present at the burial.
