The Imo Local Government LGA election is said to hold but no specific date is yet given by the election umpires, INEC and ISIEC at the time of this report by 9News Nigeria (Owerri).
Verifiable sources hinted 9News Owerri that INEC is fully charged in readiness to Partner with ISIEC Imo state to give Imolites a hitch free election.
The Director General of the Imo State Orientation Agency( ISOA) Chief Ethelbert Okere has urged all Imolites to set aside political cleavage/ leanings and lend support to the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), to enable the Commission succeed in its mandate of delivering a credible Local Government Council elections.
Chief Ethelbert Okere made this known when the Chairman and Commissioners of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Owerri.
He assured the Commission that Imo State Orientation Agency is adequately equipped to partner ISIEC in the core area of Voter Education, sensitisation and mobilization of eligible voters who will in the exercise of their civic duty , cast their ballots in the forth coming Council elections in the State.
Chief Charles Ejiogu, on behalf of the Commission , expressed gratitude to the ISOA Director General Chief Ethelbert Okere for his undiluted commitment to ethically oriented grassroots development and aassurances of partnering the Commission toward a peaceful Council election in Imo State.
The ISIEC Chairman also informed the ISOA Director General that at the conclusion of the on- going conversations with critical stakeholders, the Commission will release the Guidelines and Timetable for the Council elections to the electorate
Chief Charles Ejiogu furthermore pledged the readiness of the Commission to go the extra mile in ensuring that there will be a level playing field for all participating political parties and their candidates.
Hence, the catch-phrase will remain; conduct of a peaceful, fair, and credible Local Government Council elections.

My investigation conducted across the wards in Imo state showed that Imo people are keen to witness the Local Government Council election under Governor Hope Uzodinma, to vote their choice of candidates to make the LG tier functional.
