IMO: While emphasizing on partnership between traditional leaders and government, the State Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC Imo state, Hon Macdonald Ebere PhD beckoned on Owerri zone traditional rulers and Ndi Imo in general to foster peace and unity in addressing security challenges at their respective communities and the state at large.
Ebere made this call in a momentous gathering of Imo traditional rulers from Owerri Zone at Obi Ndi Eze in Mbari, Owerri Imo state.
Our reporter reveales that Owerri zone’s traditional rulers convened to address the pressing issue of insecurity in the zone, alongside preparations for the upcoming gubernatorial election.
Imo APC State Chairman, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, delivered a thoughtful address, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration among stakeholders.
Led by HRH Eze Akujobi Osuagwu (Ezikoche ll of Awaka Ancient Kingdom), the Owerri zonal Chairman for Traditional rulers, the gathering comprised of distinguished leaders from various political parties in the state who are poised to participate in the impending election.
Hon. Ebere commenced his address by expressing gratitude for the traditional rulers’ resilience in the face of recent security challenges. He implored them to harness their collective strength to assist the government in identifying and eradicating security threats within their communities.
With conviction, Hon. Ebere underscored the pivotal role that traditional rulers could play as partners in progress, working hand in hand with the government to eradicate insecurity from the grassroots level.
While reacting to this all important call, Ebere’s address resonated a clarion call for unity, cooperation, and vigilance against insecurity, positioning traditional rulers as instrumental allies in the pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous Owerri zone.
He however charged the traditional rulers: to develop innovative strategies that proactively address the issue of insecurity. Acknowledging their current efforts, he encouraged them to intensify their commitment and cooperation with the government in order to achieve a secure and prosperous Owerri zone.
Having in cognizance the sacredness of the State Charter of Equity, the traditional rulers promised to spread the gospel at their respective communities while preaching peace and unity all through the upcoming November Governorship election in the state.
While calling on political leaders of opposition parties to rise above partisan sentiments and prioritize the safety and well-being of the state, regardless of their preferred candidate for the gubernatorial position, Hon. Ebere emphasized that security concerns must be treated with utmost seriousness.
