IMO: Owerri-Urban Police Command Assures Residents Of Safer And More Friendly Relationship

The Owerri-Urban Police Command has assured residents in the Imo State Capital, Owerri, of their safety as more security strategies have been deployed to ensure security threats and criminal activities, by Men of the underworld, are nipped in the bud.

The command made the pledge when the leadership of Willie-Elezieanya Crescent, Ikenegbu layout Extension Owerri, visited the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in-charge of the Command, SP Maxwell Ejimnkonye in his office over the weekend.

The DPO expressed happiness to see the leadership of the neighborhood Association who came to visit him, and commended them for making security assignments in their area a lot earlier for the Imo Police Command, by assisting Government in checkmating criminal elements.

According to the DPO, “we have received information about how you have been fighting insecurity and other criminal activities in your area. We are impressed. It has indeed made our work as police officers a lot easier.

“I call on other Neighbourhood Associations in the State capital to borrow a leaf from the Willie-Elezieanya Neighborhood and cooperate with the police on security matters”

According to the vibrant and hardworking DPO, “Working in harmony with the Police will undoubtedly contribute to a safer and more secure environment for all in the State capital.”

He further charged residents in the State Capital to feel free to report any security matter to his office. “Feel free to come to my office with any information. We will confidentially protect you”. I am very accessible to listen to any complaints. My office is open for all”.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Danjuma Aboki, has charged us to be up and doing, and we will not fail him. I therefore encourage the public to responsibly share any pertinent security information with us.

Earlier, the Chairman of Willie Elezieanya Neighbourhood Association, Engr Emeka Ukeje , while introducing the delegation who came on the courtesy visit said “we have come to familiarize with the Owerri-Urban Police Command and interface with you on security issues”.
