The people of Imo state have called on GOVERNOR Hope Uzodinma to as a matter of urgency fix the bad spot areas littered on Imo roads.

Newsmen spotted this bad spot along the busy Owerri- Aba road through the EMMANUEL college roundabout.

This road according to some of the road users interviewed in the course of this report frowned at the negligence of the state government and the Ministry of works who failed to supervise and maintain these roads on regular basis.

A government worker who pleaded anonymousity told Newsmen that the government do not take the Ministry of work seriously to assign functions to them and sack redundant workers.

The source also stated that FERMA on their part are not helping matters to at least maintain NIGERIAN roads as duty demands.

The pictures in this news is the bad spot on the bridge close to EMMANUEL college roundabout which serves as one of the major entrances to the municipality.

Information reaching the press confirmed the state of the affected bridge as dangerous and posed as a death trap having the big Otamiri river under it.

However, this particular bridge was constructed barely few months ago by a construction firm who promised its durability for more 10years, our source revealed.

It sounds supprising that within the first year of the construction this particular bridge has degraded to a dangerous trap for its road users and the state at large.

Road users complained bitterly at this ugly development particularly on this bridge which they said “it is always busy and best accessable.

This bridge is very important to reduce traffic congestion to and fro the capital city of Imo state, our source told us.

The pics shows the actual position of the bridge at the time of this report, calling on road contractors to do good works on Imo roads.

Besides, the type of road built in Rivers, Enugu, Akwa-Ibom to mention but a few was said to last longer and better maintained than IMO and ABIA roads. It is the believe of Imo people to see the Government of APC prove to the world their capability and sincerity to change the old urgly narratives.

A call to the PRO of the ministry of works as at the time of this report did not go through.

It is therefore the hope of the people that GOVERNOR Hope Uzodinma will hear their cry and move the contractor to work without futher delay to save looming danger and accident this spot may cause.
