Reactions have continued to trail the recent moves of Governor Hope Uzodinma to establish IMSG Annex in Orlu zone. Government officials have applauded this gesture while those of the opposition are not comfortable with such a swift plan of the Shared Prosperity Administration.

Factually , the Imo State Government led by Governor Hope Uzodinma has officially extended the seat of Government to Orlu zone. This is happening in his tenure while he is still serving in his second tenure as the Governor of Imo state Nigeria.

At the time of filling this report by 9News Nigeria, the complex is under speedy construction targetted at completion within the specified duration contained in the contract bid as endorsed between the Imo state government and the contractor handling the project.

Speaking to 9News Nigeria , some government personalities applauded His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma for executing such a legacy project in Orlu zone. Accordingly, “the extension of Imo state government house to various senatorial zones will bring government activities closer to the people. It is an annex where certain activities of government will be carried to”.

On the contrary, politicians from Okigwe senatorial zone have criticized this development demanding the Governor to extend and establish same government house annex to Okigwe zone for the reason of equitable distribution.

Meanwhile , a reliable source from the opposition told 9News that the Governor is setting every plan in readiness of the upcoming Orlu state which is yet to be approved by the Senate.

In addition , he must have expended humongous sum of state resources being lavished on the annex while Imolites are requesting for industrialisation of the state. The state is looking too dull as if there’s no activity of government going on in the state just because the workers are hungry and salaries are not paid yet.

“The stagnation in government activities observed by Imolites is because there is no money in circulation. The Christmas season is near and people do not even hope to buy a bag of rice at the brink of high price of market commodities.

Fuel pump price is high and petroleum products have remained costly while huge money from the state coffers is being invested on building of government House annex in Orlu and some other renovations. The roads are abandoned and the people are finding it difficult to access the state capital from various locations while annex is speedily going on in Orlu”

In his speech at the inspection site, Governor Hope Odidika Uzodinma said, ” Our commitment to the development of our State is unwavering, with a focus on taking government and governance closer to the people. The construction of the Government House Annex in Orlu, a project I inspected today, is just one measure towards the actualization of this.

“The annex is strategically designed to decentralize governance, enabling easier access to government services for residents in Orlu and surrounding communities. This structure will serve as a hub for administrative activities, fostering inclusivity and enhancing service delivery.

“This project highlights our dedication to equitable development across the State, ensuring that every zone experiences the benefits of good governance.

Governor Uzodinma maintained that the 3R Shared Prosperity Administration will remain committed to delivering this facility within the stipulated timeline while continuing other developmental initiatives, as work progresses steadily.
