The shared prosperity government of governor Hope Uzodinma is facing a lot of dangerous challenges ranging from Insecurity to low response to workers welfare and most importantly the present situation of Imo roads have reduced the #3R# government to the lowest common multiple.

It is the duty of the fourth estate of the realm to checkmark the activities of Government and if the media did not open up to advise the government where it has derailed and in the same manner help to propagate the credits achievement to the public, then the ethics of Journalism is Jeopardized.

Consequently, the media has to do their work professionally to shape the government and Improve the society.

However, 9News Nigeria authoritatively reveals that the situation of Imo roads is highly disappointing even at the mercy of Governor Hope Uzodinma to employ the services of QUALIFIED contractors to handle the roads.

For instance, the UMUGUMA world bank roundabout area is a death trap as at the time of this report.

The neglected condition of this road is annoying and this led to the peaceful protest staged on Tuesday 26-10-2021 by the youths of the area to attract government attention.

During the protest, Umuguma road was blocked by the youths to express their bitterness on the dangers the road has posed to the residents.

Our correspondent in Owerri who was called for an on-the-spot assessment of Avu- Obosima road where the community leaders and Youths of the area who turned out en-masse to protest against the condition of their side of the road were embittered over the neglect of Avu road by Imo state government.

From my investigation, there is no doubt the setback condition of clog in the wheel of governance is attracting more enemies and greater oppositions than followership.

When I proceeded to the TORONTO area, the road was completely impassable. Residents spoke badly of #3R# government on the state of Imo roads while businesses in the area were reported to have remained crumpled as the flood in Toronto last.

Again, on the long-overdue NEKEDE/ IHIAGWA/ FUTO/OBINZE road, every reasonable Imolite and users of this road must have wondered the reason for the slow speed of work on this particular busy road.

9News Nigeria reports that without doubt, workers met on-site complained of lack of materials while the contractors have promised to speed up work immediately the weather Improves.

At the IHIAGWA BRIDGE that connects Obinze Portharcourt road and FUTO, one can hardly see any sign of work going on.

At FUTO Ihiagwa back gate, the flood and gully at this particular point I mentioned, which has cut off the popular Ihiagwa market square. The flood within this zone may soon collapse the buildings around the area if the government did not pay a listening ear to work on this road fastly.

And in case the delay causes such collapse, the tempo it will raise is an assurance that no single political conscious entity within Ihiagwa Obinze Nekede and Owerri West en bloc will support the APC Government under Uzodinma’s administration, because the government they say is a give-in give-out business. QED.

In furtherance to this assertion, the political leaders have deceived the people a lot and a change of narrative by Uzodinma’s government will put a long-lasting smile on the faces of the electorates.

At Nekede, both old roads and new roads are deserted. Vehicles cannot stand to say the level of damages these roads have caused them.

Towards the zoo area that was cut off over two months ago, no single work is going on at least to put the road in good other.

At number Four bus stop close to the Traditional palace of the ancient King, HRH EZE Agumanu Stephen is impassable till date, after a lot of remedial work was done.

9News Nigeria Owerri reported recently that the Oguoma-led youths of Nekede old road contributed and made donations to put in good shape the number-10 Bus stop without Government INTERVENTION.

Within UMUOMA Nekede area towards Police Divisional HEADQUATERS and NNPC Ihiagwa area which serves as a link road to the FEDPONEK, no single vehicle can pass through this road because of the SORRY STATE it has degenerated to, by the reason of government neglect and “POLITRICKS” as reported.

Along ABA-OWERRI road, one can easily observe that some areas have started wearing off within a few months after work while some other locations are abandoned by the contractors handling the project without minding the pains and dangers such bad work poses to the state.

of a fact, I observed that it is the wish of Imo people to witness better governance and quality work done after criticizing previous administrations of their pitfalls.

Besides, an unanswered question is, how then can a government be loved, supported and appreciated by its subjects who cannot access good roads, non-payment of workers, lack of adequate security and high cost of living in the state?

A call in the right direction is for the governor to switch to plan-B schedules to better the state and change the urgly narrative.
