The Total of Ten (10) Judges in Imo state Nigeria were sworn in by the Imo State government IMSG in the early hours of today Monday, the 15th day of July, 2024.
The swearing In of 7 New High Court Judges and 3 New Customary Court Of Appeal Judges was duly organized while the Majority Leader IMHA Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi felicitates with them at the occasion.
9News Nigeria authoritatively reports that Today, Monday,His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma CON has Sworn in New seven (7) High Court Judges and additional three (3) Customary Court of Appeal Judges.
Congratulating the Newly sworn in Legal Luminaries, the Majority Leader Imo State House of Assembly IMHA, Rt Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi prayed God to guide them through their legal assignments in Imo State.
The Owerri West Legislator also charged them to discharge their duties without fear or favour so as to make the legal profession a delight to behold. The Back-to-back Majority Leader IMHA Egbe Eji Eje Ogu also thanked the Darling Governor of Imo State for his relentlessly extending a hand of support to Imo Judiciary.
The event witnessed government top Functionaries, traditional Council, commissioners, IMHA members, the BENCH and BAR including the general public who witnessed the swearing that took place in Imo state government house Owerri as 9News Nigeria correspondent reports.
Meanwhile, Governor Uzodinma stated that his administration have always prioritized the judiciary’s welfare and upheld the institution because by virtue of their roles, the society depends on justice for stability, hence they must be supported in carrying out their responsibilities with utmost seriousness and ethical conduct.
Having been found worthy by NJC, the Governor said he had the honor of swearing in 10 new Judges (seven for the High Courts and three for the Customary Courts of Appeal), and emphasized the importance of integrity, dignity, and the fear of God in their duties.
He further urged the Justices to uphold integrity and honor, stressing that the judiciary is under intense public scrutiny and they must conduct themselves impeccably, as they are the last hope of the common man.
Uzodinma, while leaving them with car gifts, said , in supporting them as a society, we must avoid pressuring the Judges, allowing them to fulfill their duties impartially and effectively.
