Kogi Residents Protest, INEC Cancels Election In LGA As Officials Arrive Polling Units With Pre-Recorded Result Sheets
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has cancelled election in 67 polling units in the Ogori-Magongo local government area of Kogi State.
The cancellation followed a serious protest by residents of the Magongo community over the written results on the result sheet while accreditation and voting had not commenced in the polling units.
A source who is monitoring the development told SaharaReporters that the election had been canceled by INEC.
“The election here has been canceled. The protest has made the INEC officials call off their staff. In all polling units in Ogori/Magongo local government.”
