The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the activation of its online engagement portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc personnel for the 2027 General Elections.
According to a notice dated 14 September 2026 and addressed to the Director-General of the NYSC, the Commission said the INECPRES portal would open for interested applicants s from 8:00am on Friday, 18 September 2026 and close midnight on Wednesday, 18 November 2026.
The notice states that applications will be submitted through the INEC website and the designated INECPRES web portal, with an Android mobile application also provided for the applicants.
INEC said applicants would be considered in the following order of priority:
1. INEC staff within the states, particularly GL08 to GL14 officers.
2. Currently serving NYSC members.
3. Staff of federal government parastatals, particularly GL 08 to 14, and
4. Recently passed-out NYSC members from the 2024 -2026 batches.
The Commission also provided a 24-hour IT Service Management help desk for applicants experiencing technical difficulties.
INEC’s official website confirms that INECPRES is the Commission’s platform for the engagement of election staff, including positions such as Supervisory Presiding Officers, Registration Area Centre Managers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and Registration Area Technical Support personnel.
The development comes as INEC continues preparations for the 2027 General Elections, with the Commission’s official election calendar listing the Presidential and National Assembly elections for 20 February 2027 and the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections for March 2027.
Applicants are advised to use only INEC’s official platforms and verify recruitment information before submitting personal details.
