The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has ordered all public senior secondary schools in Abuja to shut down on or before Friday, November 28, following heightened security concerns in the nation’s capital.
The directive was contained in an internal memo issued on Tuesday by Aishatu Sani Alhassan, Director of School Services, FCT Secondary Education Board.
In the memo addressed to principals and heads of schools, the FCTA instructed that all academic activities must cease without delay, stressing the need for a coordinated and safe dismissal of students.
The administration also mandated schools to promptly notify learners, staff, and parents of the closure.
The memo further directed school authorities to reschedule all scheduled academic activities in compliance with the closure order.
It added that schools should prepare to resume on the following official school day, except where the administration issues new instructions.
