I’ve no plan to join APC – Ogbulafor

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, has described as mischievous, the media report that he had perfected plans to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He dismissed as a blatant lie, the media report that he and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had met with some APC chieftains to tidy up arrangements on their eventual defection to the party.
Ogbulafor who spoke with newsmen yesterday in Umuahia said he had no plans to dump PDP, let alone defect to APC.
His words: “I am still in PDP and I have not discussed with Ikpeazu or any other person on plans to defect to APC.”
Contrary to claims in the said report, Ogbulafor said he had been in Abuja and never met Ikpeazu, who was in Abia, since Friday’s Supreme Court ruling, wondering where the alleged meeting took place.
“Who is the close source quoted by the newspaper that I want to defect to APC? It was a mischievous insinuation by the reporter,” he said.
The former PDP national chairman said that the current leadership crisis in his party is not insurmountable expressing confidence that the Supreme Court will permanently resolve the debacle.
“I have implicit confidence in the nation’s judiciary to deliver judgment in the party’s leadership crisis in favour of Alh Ahmed Makarfi,” Ogbulafor said.
Ogbulafor boasted that PDP would bounce back in 2019 as the party in power at the centre, urging members of the party to keep faith in the party.
He also expressed faith in the judiciary saying that the current legal tussle will end in favour of the mainstream PDP under Markarfi.
“I am confident in the judiciary. It has given us victory in Abia with the affirmation of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu as governor and it will give us victory in PDP.
“Once this happens, the party will bounce back. PDP remains popular and leading political party in all the 774 Local Government Areas in the country.”
The PDP chieftain said it was not in the interest of Nigeria for the country to be turned into a one-party state.
