A call has gone to the Imo State Government to find lasting solution to the killings and destructions of properties worth hundereds of millions of Naira across the three zones of the state.
Through this medium, Imo people are pleading with the Governor, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma to as a matter of urgency seek for lasting solution to the insecurity in the state.
The situation is getting out of hands mostly as the festive season draws near. In Owerri West, Nekede, Avu, Obinze and Ihiagwa are red areas where insecurity and herdsmen attack are high following the call to open the farmlands and nearby forests for development.
Stakeholders across political affiliations have stated categorically to 9News Nigeria correspodents Condemning the sudden killing and destruction of properties in Izombe area Monday evening.
The attack was not in any way associated with politics as flooded on the airwaves but something wrong is fussing that need to be addressed without delay.
9News Nigeria gathered that some persons were shot dead in the clash that involved the military and unidentified groups in the area.
The number of persons killed are yet to be confirmed while our correspodents have stormed the area this Tuesday morning.
A call to relevant agencies confirmed there was shootings and arson but both was not politically motivated.
Agitations and killing of Dangote driver within the area by Izombe youths is highly condemned but the soldiers on patrol over reacted because of the killing of Dangote driver.
The recent rampage in Izombe Oguta area in Imo state Nigeria actually led to killings, burning down of houses and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira in Izombe.
Such shortcoming has continued to trigger mixed reactions from various Political camps Condemning the act as baberic.
At the time of this report, the situation is calm and security was fully mobilized in the area.
An anonymous in the area told 9News that the shootings and siege by the military at the point of killing of Dangote driver has become worrisome in the area since the height of insecurity has increased in the state.
Another anonymous said the government is doing everything possible to check killings and youth restiveness in the area but regretted the Monday war that broke out suddenly between the military and the people.
On interview, people were on tension but spoke to the 9News Nigeria (Owerri) that the fear of insecurity and banditry in the area has made the area desolate at press time.
State government has mobilized enough security intelligence to calm the tempo and possibly stop the continous arson in Izombe Oguta and Ohaji Egbema area.
At the scene this morning our source said, ” Oga press, you are taking risk interviewing people here because anything can still happen that is the situation we see ourselves in Izombe and in Orlu zone in general.
No doubt, series of agitations have taken precedence among the youths of the area while we appeal for immediate consultation and peace talk by the Uzodinma’s led administration to provide maximum security in the state.
Having witnessed the recent destructions and burning of properties in Izombe Monday 7-11-2022, Imo people are apprehensive of the festive season which is near by the corner.
Fingers pointing Politicians at this time when actions to provide security to Imo people is not important but to proffer immediate solution and stop further attacks on citizens.
Politicians have no link to the Monday arson in Izombe. The exchange of gun firing and burning of houses and properties was caused by the sudden presence of military at the point of the killing of Dangote driver, 9News Nigeria investigated.
The cause of the act of deliberately setting of fire on properties and killing of people in the area are highly condemned by the generality of Ndi Imo.
In the face of relentless measures to curb Insecurity in the state, killings and destruction of properties are still on the increase, tension is highly triggered across the state.
This report is highly investigative noting that the number of killed persons are yet to be confirmed at press time while we establish our calls for confirmation.
9News Nigeria correspodent gathered that no Politician set properties on fire and the deliberate act was not politically motivated. Therefore half-baked stories in that direction are highly misleading and false.
The group that attacked the military are yet to be identified but the military was tricked to the area for an intervention but was regrettedly turned to be attacked. Videos of carnage that happened in the area is on various social media platforms.
