The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi has stated that Jigawa is fully committed to actualising the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu to give Nigeria food security.
He said this when the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga and the Hon. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris paid him a courtesy call in his office on Thursday 21st March, 2024.
The Adviser was also in the palace of the Emir of Dutse, Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi CFR, with Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, CEOs of Federal Information agencies and senior presidential aides to pay homage to the traditional ruler.
While the team was with him, the Governor briefed the team members on the state’s agricultural production with Federal aid and that Jigawa was set to harvest record dry season wheat in a few days.
The state has set its ambition to provide the entire wheat needs of Nigeria in the next few years. Governor Namadi said the state is fully committed to actualizing the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu to give Nigeria food security. Jigawa is Nigeria’s no.1 producer of sorghum, wheat, hibiscus, and soya beans. It is also a major producer of rice.
