The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, apprehended 28 individuals involved in various crimes across the state. Among them were two secondary school girls who faked their mapping and demanded ransom from their mother.

The girls, aged 13 and 15, called their mother pretending to be kidnappers and demanded N100,000.

Additionally, they also threatened the town’s monarch, stating they would kill the abductees if the ransom was not paid within 24 hours.

The Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, mentioned that kidnapping was the predominant crime in the area, and they were committed to eradicating it.

The arrests were made in collaboration with the Department of State Security, as they tracked the girls’ telephone line to their location.

During interrogation, one of the girls confessed that her elder sister lured her into the plan.

She revealed that they hatched the scheme to get money from their mother by declaring a fake kidnapping and demanding ransom.
