Crown and political supporters were seen occupying major streets within Maiduguri, Borno state’s capital to welcome the governor of the state, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum.
The governor has just landed the Maiduguri International Airport at noon after his 21 days vacation.
The governor is currently at the airport heading to the government house Maiduguri.
During his vacation, the state was run by his deputy, Alh. Umar Usman Kadafur, as the acting governor of the state.
Zulum on April 26, 2021 requested the State House of Assembly to approve Kadafur as the acting governor from April 29 to May 19, 2021.
Following the approval of the state House, the governor left the state on April 28 to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj and pray for the state.
Mr Kadafur, who has became the first deputy governor to serve as acting governor in the state, is expected to immediately handover the state’s affairs to the governor.
