Just In: Eguavoen quits as Super Eagles Interim Coach after a draw with Rwanda

Augustine Eguavoen has vacated his position as Interim Head Coach of the Super Eagles, the Nigerian’s national football team.

Eguavoen who serves as Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, emphasized that his appointment was limited to two matches.

“My mandate was for two games”, he said.

The Technical Director was appointed after attempts to secure a permanent head coach for the national team failed.

During his brief tenure Eguavoen led the three time African champions in two critical 2025 AFCON qualifiers against the Benin Republic and Rwanda, securing four points in both matches.
