Two standup comedians in Kano State, Mubarak Isa Muhammad, and Nazifi Muhammad Bala yesterday got unusual punishments for defaming Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on their Tiktok accounts.
A Magistrate Court presided over by Aminu Muhammad Gabari yesterday ordered that they be thrashed 20 lashes with the cane.
Gambari also ruled that the two comedians sweep and wash the toilets on the premises of the Magistrate Court located at Noman’s Land area of the Kano metropolis for 30 days.
