The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Katsina State Chapter, has applauded the State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, for approving the recruitment of teachers for Christian Religious Studies (CRS).
The State Chairman, Very Rev. Fr. Richard Shuaibu Liti, gave the commendation in a statement signed by the Association’s Secretary, Dr. Musa Daniel Danlali.
The statement quoted Dr. Musa as describing the move as timely, noting that all state CAN has consistently advocated for the recruitment of CRS teachers to promote good morals.
He added that the teaching of Christian Religious Knowledge in schools will not only enhance academic performance of Christian students but also help build their character and make them better citizens of the state.
Dr. Musa therefore called on Christians in the state with the required qualifications to apply online and express their interest in the job.
“We also want to put it on record that our Governor has approved the disbursement of monthly stipends to all pastors in the state. This stipends is aimed at encouraging the clergy to continue praying for the peace and progress of Katsina State.
The State CAN Chairman and members are sincerely grateful for this kind gesture”, Dr. Musa stated.
He expressed hope that these initiatives will be sustained beyond the Governor’s second tenure in office.
