The Kebbi State Government has approved the reopening of schools across the state, effective Monday, January 5, 2026.
The directive, contained in a letter signed by Isah Ibrahim K, Head of Public Relations and Protocol (HPRP), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), applies to all public and private institutions following a temporary closure to ensure safety and administrative preparedness.
All schools administrators, teachers, parents, students, and Education secretaries are urged to take note and ensure full compliance.
School heads are expected to make adequate preparation for a smooth and safe resumption of academic activities, while parents and guardian are advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly, as academic sessions will commence without delay.
The government had directed the closure of the schools in the state, following the abduction of 25 schoolgirls and killing of vice principal of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga by bandits in November 2025.
