The 2nd edition of Yobe State Spelling Bee has come to an end with Khadija Modu Manga as the winner of the program.
She won the competition on the final day on Friday at Damaturu after battling it out with Yusuf Haruna Mohammed in the final.
Some of the words spelled in the final includes; diagnoses, instinctive, colome, homiletics, Aquarium, Boisterous and others.
Khadija is a student of Zaid Bin Thabit private school, Damaturu while the runner-up is from Government Day Junior Secondary School Kara, Potiskum.
Part of her prizes include a scholarship at Nigerian Tupil International College, two tablet phones and a laptop among others.
While the runner-up will also receive a cash prize of N305,000, he will also receive a scholarship award to any college or it’s equivalent as well as two tablet phones.
Also, Umaira Haruna of Madina International Academy, Sabon Gari, Gashua town, Bade local government area of the state, emerged third position.
She has won a cash prize of N200,000.
