It was celebrations galore in Kisi, Igboho and Igbeti areas of Oyo State on Sunday 20th September. 2020, when the news that scores of the kidnappers ravaging the people in that axis had been killed and others went away with series of bullet wounds.
According to Mr Ayankunle Emmanuel, the Information Officer of Olorunsogo Local Government Area, Igbeti, the Chairmen of the three Local Governments involved led the jubilating crowd from Folo village where the kidnapping was badly hit to Igbeti Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
The mammoth crowd were surprised to see the various AK 47 and other sophisticated weapons and firearms recovered from the fallen kidnappers who had been terrorizing the Igboho, Kisi and Igbeti axis of the Old Oyo Forest Reserves for a couple of weeks.
While addressing the crowd on Sunday night, Hon Adediran Abdul-lateef SANTANA, the Chairman Irepo Local Government, on behalf of Hon Chief Ayantunde David Ayandeyi, Hon Adesola Yaqub TASOOLO, the Chairman Olorunsogo and Oorelope LGAs respectively, thanked almighty Allah for the success of the strategic combing of Old Oyo Forest Reserve by the security Agents and local Vigilante Groups.
Special thank was also showered on the State Governor, His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, for providing the Local Government Chairmen with the necessary enabling environment which led to the success of the operation storm the forest by the security apparatus.
In conclusion, the Area Commander, DPO of the three Local Government Councils, Men of SARS SQUAD, OYO State Operation Burst, MOPOL Squadron , Local Government Vigilante Groups, VGN, Myetti Allah, ASAKAYE Vigilante Groups Igbeti Toro, Kisi Progressive Union, Egbe Omo Ifelodun Igboho, the leadership of NURTW and RTEAN in Olorunsogo , Oorelope and Irepo were all applauded for the significant roles they displayed during the exercise.
