Traditional Ruler in OHAJI EGBEMA Local Government Area of Imo state Nigeria, His Royal Highness HRH Eze Augustine Iwuogu (Ezemma of Mmahu Autonomous community) has fled his community on a tip off that police intelligence has stormed his community to investigate the actual cause of the killing of a PRESIDENT General and six others.
9News Nigeria investigative team who stormed Nmahu town to ascertain the cause of the chaos gathered that the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Rabiu Hussaini, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Intelligence Investigation Department to begin the process of arresting the killers of seven (7) community leaders in Nmahu in the Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area of the state.
Our source told our reporters that the traditional ruler of the community has been alleged of sponsoring notorious killer gangs that killed Governor Uzodinma’s appionted President General, PG Ezinna Charles Mgbaraho, the secretary Chastity Nwachukwu , the PRO Chinedu Anene and 4 others, Edeme Okoro, Isaac Ojenya, Ndubuish Okereke and Ifeyirinwoke Junior .
Our reporters gathered that in the recent man slaughter at Mmahu Autonomous community, it was alleged that the kingpin Osita Ogbiri who is a prison Escapee led 7 man gangstar, Obinna Asobia, Livingstone Abaizem Ugo Neabugwu and others killed PG Mgbaraho, Nwachukwu, Anene, Okoro, Ojenya, Okereke and Ifeyirinwoke to the community over town union leadership tussle bedevilling the community.
According to the source, on 24th August 2020 the Imo State Governor Sen. Hope Uzodinma through the IMC chairman of Ohaji/ Egbema LGA, Hon. Marcel Amadioha appointed Charles Mgbaraho and his team as executives of Mmahu town union.
It stated that Eze Augustine .I. Iwuogu on receiving the list of the appointees from governor Uzodinma “swore that it will be over his dead body that he will allow the appointees to function in Mmahu community”
The source recalled that the same appointment was made by the former state Governor in the person of Sen. Rochas Okorocha during his regime and it was accepted by the Eze Iwuogu. But it is surprised that the same is becoming a nightmare to entire Mmahu Autonomous community since the Eze vowed that he will not live to allow governor’s appiontees to function as town union leaders
The source further narrated that the gang allegedly started by killing the Government appointed Deputy Youth President Uche Nwokocha on 6th June 2021, on 15th June 2021, Onyekachi Ugwuoha was killed by same gang, and on 4th July 2021, Athanatius Nwokocha, uncle to Uche Nwokocha was killed for supporting the government appointed team.
It added that In 2008, between the months of February and April, Four members of Mmahu Autonomous community were alleged killed by prison Escapee kingpin Osita Ogbiri led gang, and every reliable evidence is portraying that the Eze A. I Iwuogu is alleged to have approved the Murdered Osita Ibuaku, Romanus Alonyia, Everestus Nwokeukwu and Augustine Otunne.
As the investigation is still on, the Imo state police command has swung into action to unravel the killers while the traditional ruler of the Nmahu Community has fled.
