The Executive Chairman of Kwande Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman of Benue State, Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji, has continued to demonstrate his commitment to enhancing security and promoting sustainable economic development across riverine communities within the local government.

Early yesterday, at Ikyo-Awen, Turan District of Kwande LGA, The Executive Chairman was ably represented by the APC Youth Leader comrade Msughaondo Bernard Orhii (zakeke) and his Personal Assistant on Mining and Solid Minerals, Hon. Ananum Nor AKA Crucial during the installation of two newly donated smart speed boats. The event was well attended by dignitaries, community stakeholders, and residents, who commended the initiative.

A team of engineers successfully mounted the boats on the newly constructed carriages and conducted thorough test runs, confirming them to be fully operational and ready for security patrols and water transport operations.

This initiative represents the first phase of a comprehensive waterways security and transportation programme, strategically designed to strengthen security surveillance, improve mobility for security agencies, and boost economic activities along the riverbanks.
While speaking through his representatives, Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and improving access to farmlands across Kwande. He noted that no citizen of Kwande should have to pass through hostile territories to reach their homes or farmlands. According to him, the introduction of the smart speed boats is aimed at making movement across the river safer, faster, and more convenient, thereby enabling farmers to return to their farms and sustain their livelihoods with ease.
The Ikyo-Awen community expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Neji for his continuous support and developmental drive, acknowledging that his administration has brought renewed progress, safety, and hope to the people of Kwande Local Government Area.
