Labour Party (LP) Commends Uzodinma For Opening Facilities For Opposition Campaign Rallies

In rare demonstration of politics without bitterness and promotion of healthy politicking, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has approved the use of government-owned facilities for opposition political parties to organise their campaign rallies.

On Sunday, Uzodinma announced that all political parties interested in campaigning at any of the government-owned facilities in the state is welcome, as long as legal stipulations are followed.

The Governor had noted that the onus is on political parties to deliver their message to Imo people, who will in turn evaluate such messages before making up their minds on who to vote for.

It is on this note that members of the Labour Party (LP)are excited that Uzodimma has given the party approval to hold its rally at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square today, December 6, 2022. They commended Governor Uzodinma’s magnanimity and demonstration of politics without rancour and bitterness.

The State Coordinator of Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, who took to social media platforms, yesterday to announce the approval, thanked the governor and instructed supporters “to spread the good news.

”Ihekweme wrote: “Uzodinma, in his magnanimity, and in the spirit of ensuring level playing ground for all political parties, has approved the use of all government facilities subject to payment of statutory charges for any political party that requires same.

This facilities included, Ndubuisi Kanu Square (former Heroes Square) and any other state-owned public arena in the state.
