The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said members of the Labour Party are “Very disobedient” and that he does not want to act like them.
Umahi made this statement on Friday during the Ministerial Press Briefing held in Abuja where he presented the achievements of his Ministry.
Before ending his speech, Umahi praised his team at the Ministry of Works and took at swipe at the Labour Party members, many who are supporters of Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
“I don’t want to be disobedient, or be a member of Labour Party that are disobedient, I want to commend Minister of State, Works., my Permanent Secretary and all the Directors. But greater commendation goes to Mr. President”, he said.
Earlier in his remarks, Umahi also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for launching the long-awaited Sokoko –Badagry road project.
He explained that the idea for the road was first proposed by former President Shehu Shagari administration about 47 years ago.
“The good news is the Sokoto–Badagry. This was a dream of the Shagari administration about 47 years back. And it was supposed to be Badagry — Sokoto, but a very destribalised President directed us to change it to Sokoto – Badagry”, Umahi said.
