The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, has increased its entire Bus Reform Initiative, BRI, scheme fare by 18 per cent.
LAMATA made this known through its official social media platform.
According to LAMATA, the fare rise is because of increase in the cost of operations and the need to ensure that buses keep running, in order to guarantee movement of residents around Lagos. It therefore noted that the new fare would take effect from Monday 17th February, 2025, as it seeks for understanding and cooperation.
