Liverpool have finalized the signing of Alexander Isak from Newscatle United for a fixed fee of £125 million.
The move, confirmed on Monday September 1, comes with no adds-ons attached. While the deal is worth £130 million to Newscatle due to solidarity payments, Liverpool’s direct payment to club standard at £125 million.
Isak is the most expensive signing in Premier League history, surpassing Chelsea’s Moises Caicededo who join the London club for £115 million from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023.

Isak’s signing makes the second time this summer that Liverpool have broken the club transfer record record, with Arne Slot’s aside having committed an initial £100 million – plus a potential £16 million in adds-ons – to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in June.
The Swedish forward is expected to lead Liverpool’s attack in their new era under Arne Slot.
The two clubs have already exchanged documents for Isak deal overnight, official statement set for today.
The deal brings to an end one of the most -potential transfer sagas, with Isak having spent more than a month agitating for a move away from Newscatle.
The 25-year-old did not join the club in their pre-season tour of the Far East and has not featured for Eddie Howe’s side this season.
He also released a sensational statement earlier this month in which he claimed promises had be “broken” by Newscatle hierarchy and insisted a move a summer would be in the best interest of all parties.
