Angela Yvonne Davis, an American political activist, philosopher, academic, and author. She is a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Ideologically a Marxist and feminist, Davis was a longtime member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and a founding member of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS).

My mind is made up on the desirability of Angela’s quote

It is located in the richest continent in the world, in the West of the richest continent. My country is called Sierra Leone.
On the surface we are blessed with infinite beauty and abundance of flora and fauna, producing the most exquisite harvests of coffee, cocoa, fruits, vegetables and catechuic.
You name it, we’ve got it. We also have diverse wildlife and vast marine resources, and waterfalls, and rivers that run into the most beautiful beaches.
The land is golden; literally, a true paradise, which of course is inhabited by the most beautiful souls”
Mallence, the founder of Folorunsho Foundation, has said that the major reason Africa remains underdeveloped is because of poor leadership’s. Mallence posited: “history has never been made by rich people but by the most impactful The youths need to put more effort in demanding accountability from the leaders so that more effort can be put into developing the African nations and not their pockets”
She further alluded to the major reason why Africa remains underdeveloped which is because of poor leadership.
Thus, for example, humans acquire culture through the learning processes of enculturation and socialization, which is shown by the diversity of cultures across societies.
A cultural norm codifies acceptable conduct in society;
It serves as a guideline for :
- behavior,
- dress,
- language,
- and demeanor in a situation, which serves as a template for expectations in a social group.
Multiple perspectives are infused into a seamless narrative as historical events are presented without bias and with authentic voices. But of course, even that assumes that culture is an umbrella term which encompasses the social behavior, institutions, and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups Culture is often originated from or attributed to a specific region or location.

To a greater extent. Africa is still a virgin ground and the only right thing to do is for Africa to reclaim it, nurture it and protect it.
It is against this backdrop that we need to situates and properly prioritized the culture of discovery and learning. What is more, Aristotle, profoundly posited: “Excellence is never an accident.
It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; It represents the wise choice of many alternatives-choice, not chance, determines your destiny. ” In the meantime, I will like to conclude this article that focuses on culture of discovery and learning by identifying some of the critical components of industrialization that stunted our growth:

The controversy that has surrounded and grounded the activities of this huge economic infrastructure is preposterous, unimaginable for an economy begging for investments and could at best be described as self-inflicted economic sabotage.
Nigeria goes cap in hand to china, IMF, World Bank, Paris Club, and any other institution or country that can spare a loan, while it continues to systemically and instrumentally destroy its money-generating infrastructures. How can this ever be rationalized?
• Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL), located in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, Nigeria. Built on a 24,000 hectares (59,000 acres) site starting in 1979, it is the largest steel mill in Nigeria, and the coke oven and byproducts plant are larger than all the refineries in Nigeria combined.
However, the project was mismanaged and remains incomplete 40 years later – despite investment of over #4 trillion and salary of #29 billion. Ditto Katsina, Osogbo and Itakpe steel rolling mills.

The Port-Harcourt Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (PHRC) has the capacity of producing 210,000 barrels per day, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (KRPC) can produce 110,000 barrels per day while the Warri Refining Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC) has a 125,000 barrels per day production capacity.
In June 2020, the corporation’s three refineries processed no crude and combined yield efficiency is 0.00% owing largely to on-going rehabilitation works at the refineries.
• Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) is the state-run defense corporation of Nigeria and operated by the Nigerian Armed Forces.
It is responsible for the production of defense equipment and civilian products.
(DICON) was primarily established to produce small Arms and Ammunition for the use of the Nigerian Army and other Security agencies. The Corporation also uses its excess capacity to produce machinery spare parts for industries and other products for civilian use.
Sadly, it is the same story of neglect and culture of impunity that is prevalent in all spheres of endeavor in the black continent of Africa. Finally, I like to share with us the golden words of an accomplished personality, Yetunde A. Odugbesan-Omede, Ph.D., is a Professor of Global Affairs and Politics. She is a Policy Advisor, Author, Global Speaker and Leadership Strategist.
Yetunde profoundly posited: “Share the Vision with Absolute Clarity Leaders in any institution need to share the vision of what they want their institution, university or company to achieve. To get others to see and understand your vision, you need to motivate and inspire with the same enthusiasm and positivity you have inside you. ” This is a clear testimony of culture of discovery and learning in the era of 4th Industrial Revolution.
