Members of the Male Comprehensive High School Class of 1988 on Saturday, 27th December 2025, converged for a grand reunion get-together, an event that blended nostalgia, fellowship, and renewed commitment to unity and service.
The gathering served as a platform to reconnect old friends, celebrate shared journeys, and strengthen the enduring bonds that have defined the 1988 set over the decades.

The reunion attracted an impressive turnout, with members attending alongside their husbands, wives, children, and grandchildren. The presence of families added colour and warmth to the occasion, transforming it into a celebration of legacy, continuity, and the values passed from one generation to the next.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the National President of the Old Students’ Association of Male Comprehensive School (OSAMACOS), the National Secretary, Comrade Tunji Odagi, paid glowing tribute to the 1988 set, describing them as pacesetters and torchbearers within the association.
He lauded their consistency, organisational strength, and visible unity, noting that the set has continued to play a stabilising and progressive role in OSAMACOS. According to him, the maturity, cooperation, and sense of responsibility consistently displayed by the 88 set have positioned them as a reference point for other graduating sets within the association.

Comrade Odagi further urged members to sustain the momentum by remaining actively involved in association affairs and by continuing to promote peace, development, and mutual support among old students, stressing that the strength of OSAMACOS lies in the collective commitment of its members.
In his address, the Governor of the 1988 set, Comrade Waliu Mustapha, expressed heartfelt appreciation to members for their loyalty, sacrifices, and continued engagement over the years. He described the reunion as a reaffirmation of brotherhood and shared values, noting that despite the passage of time and the demands of life, the bond among the 88 set remains strong.
He enjoined members to deepen their unity, support one another, and intensify efforts at reaching out to classmates who are yet to fully reconnect with the group, emphasizing that inclusiveness remains key to the growth and relevance of the set.
Speaking with Alhaji Kabiru Olatubosun Ajayi, a prominent member of the 1988 class and a contender for the Ogun State House of Assembly, he described the reunion as timely, inspiring, and deeply symbolic. According to him, the gathering provided an opportunity for members to reconnect, reflect on their shared journey, and renew lifelong bonds built on friendship and mutual respect. He commended the level of organisation and participation, adding that the presence of spouses, children, and grandchildren further highlighted the unity, continuity, and enduring legacy of the 1988 set.
Alhaji Ajayi also noted that such gatherings help to strengthen collective consciousness and shared responsibility, values he said are essential not only within alumni circles but also in broader community and public service engagements.
The reunion featured moments of reflection, laughter, and purposeful interaction, as members shared memories of their school days, exchanged ideas, and explored ways of strengthening cooperation among themselves.
The atmosphere of camaraderie and warmth underscored the resilience and relevance of the class.
