In a deeply sorrowful incident, UB Shehu recounted the painful loss of his wife during a fibroid surgery at Jummai Babagida Maternal and Neonatal Hospital, a pubic referral center located in Niger State.
Shehu explained that just 35 minutes into the procedure, the hospital’s main power supply from NEPA was suddenly cut of tragically, the backup generator was found to be without fuel, leaving in the medical team helpless in the middle of the operation.
“My wife died there on the operating table”, Shehu mourned, highlighting in the devastating impact of critical infrastructure failure.
